Teta’s Zaatar is a best seller since 2013, this tangy spread of zaatar and pomegranate molasses is one of my most versatile products. It can be used to marinate chicken breasts for grilling or a healthy salad dressing, or just on bread with labneh/cream. Perfect for breakfast! Ready to use in an airtight glass jar with a minimal shelf life of 6 months.
The Story
This recipe has been passed down in my family for generations. I spent my childhood making this spread alongside with my father and it was always a staple in our kitchen. Until now, there is always a jar on our counter. My kids use it to make their breakfast sandwiches with zaatar, labneh, tomato and cucumber slices. For cooking, I love to use it in a sauté with chicken livers and white onions, rub all over a whole chicken and put in the oven, or roast carrots and beetroots for a tasty side dish. Make a bottle of salad dressing by adding few tablespoons of my pomegranate zaatar spread, lemon juice and shake. Keep it in the fridge ready to use for next salad you make!
